MP Salasya Speaks After Being Launched By Police

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya on Saturday broke silence hours after being arrested for assaulting a fellow politician.

Whereas venting his frustrations over the arrest which he termed as unwarranted, the MP questioned why nobody has ever been arrested for attacking him regardless of what he described as him frequently being focused when he makes related strikes.

“That is the fourth time this car has been stoned and me being attacked however no single particular person has ever been arrested and questioned why …when God remains to be on my aspect,” Salasya lamented.

Salasya taking to his social media pages, shared a photograph of his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with a damaged rear windshield which he claimed was broken by goons despatched to assault him.

Narrating his ordeal by the hands of the police throughout a public gathering, the embattled MP famous he was made to sleep on a naked flooring with no mattress or blanket. 

“Am at the moment on the bottom, although I used to be made to sleep inside a cell with out something, no mattress no blanket no nothing,” he said.

On Friday, the legislator was arrested and detained on the Shianda Police Station for attacking Malaha Member of County Meeting Peter Walunya at a funeral in Kakamega.

Salasya had been granted an opportunity to deal with the mourners and console the deceased’s household when he recognized Walunya who was making an attempt to name him out over alleged lack of decorum whereas addressing mourners.

Aggrieved by the state of affairs, the livid lawmaker shouted down the MCA earlier than going forward to slap him within the full glare of cameras.

The MP was charged with assaulting and inflicting precise bodily hurt and making a disturbance in a fashion that breached part 95 (1) of the penal code.
