A group of students from Moi University found themselves in a harrowing ordeal when their bus was involved in a road accident at Kimende along the Naivasha-Nairobi Highway on Wednesday, March 27. The incident, occurring as they were en route to Mombasa for an academic trip, left several individuals injured, prompting a swift response from locals and emergency services.

Eyewitness reports detailed the bus veering off the road, ultimately overturning and causing injuries to its occupants. Amidst the chaos, bystanders rushed to aid the trapped students and driver, with some resorting to unconventional measures such as exiting through windows to escape the wreckage. Miraculously, no fatalities were reported, but the injured were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
This unfortunate event comes on the heels of a similar tragedy involving a Kenyatta University bus just two weeks prior, where a collision with a trailer in Voi, Taita Taveta County, resulted in the loss of 11 lives and numerous injuries. The recurrence of such accidents underscores the pressing need for enhanced road safety measures across the country.
