Namibian President Hage G. Geingob Dies at 82

 

In a somber turn of events, Namibia is engulfed in grief as its beloved leader, Namibian President Hage G. Geingob, succumbs to the ravages of cancer on February 4, 2024, at the age of 82. The nation’s heartache is palpable as it bids farewell to a leader who left an indelible mark on Namibian history.

President Geingob’s final moments were spent at Lady Pohamba Hospital, surrounded by his devoted wife, Madame Monica Geingos, and children. The news was delivered with heavy hearts by Vice President Nangolo Mbumba, who expressed profound regret, stating, “It is with utmost sadness that I inform you that our beloved Dr. Hage G. Geingob has passed on. Despite the tireless efforts of his medical team, President Geingob, sadly, did not recover.”
