Railways tops checklist of State companies bleeding taxpayer billions

Kenya Railways Company (KRC) topped the checklist of State businesses and semi-autonomous entities whose losses crossed the Sh1 billion mark within the 12 months ended June 2023, highlighting their rising burden on taxpayers.

A Treasury report reveals KRC made a lack of Sh33.5 billion within the evaluate interval adopted by the Roads Annuity Fund at Sh12.8 billion, Kenyatta Nationwide Hospital at Sh3.5 billion and Kenya Energy Sh3.4 billion.
